The Charcoal Sketch of the Sea Lion Ship I did takes me back many years ago to when my brother was a member of the ships crew. Specifically, he was on the Gun Crew which demonstrated the ships cannon during cruises up Chautauqua Lake!
The Gun Crew would always wait until they were up the Lake a ways, broadside the Town Houses along Chautauqua Lake. The passengers were always impressed by the power of the blast from the 17th Century Cannon blast; but, what they didn't expect was the loudness of the bouncing back Echo! The Echo was to all who were there to hear it twice as loud as the initial blast, and would scare, startle, and shock all the passengers!
