Jean and I took an afternoon and took all my sketches out to Lake Erie and took pictures of each sketch on Barcelona Beach with the Lake in the background.

I pray soon I will have several more works to add to this collection.

An Adventure on the AT with ponies

I very thankful to the Lord for inspiring me to do some new sketches and for helping us make a few more Sales.  If I am going to become successful at turning my life around and working as a full-time artist I need to be reaching as many people as possible with the works of Art that the Lord has me putting out.  My latest works came out pretty nice and I hope appealing to the person I hope to sell it to.

Another project I've been working on is an ink and water color picture of the Sea Lion in full sail in an 8"x10" size.  This one came out pretty nice; but, I haven't heard back from the person I did this for either.  If they aren't interested, I'll add it to my collection available to the general public.  Hopefully, I'll sell this very soon too.

The 17th Century Replica Sea Lion Ship in Full Sail

This week has been a little more productive as I managed to complete another large Sketch of my favorite subject, the 17th century replica ship my brother use to be a member of the gun crew on.  For several years it sailed the waters of Chautauqua Lake, NY, until falling into disrepair.  Now, it's just a shell of it's former self as you can see in this picture where it's in dry dock out to Barcelona Marina.
Given the Sea Lion is no longer sea worthy my joy is to do sketches of it sailing the sea in full glory as it use to.
This sketch / painting is done in Ink & Watercolor, framed in a large oak frame with a dark blue matting.  With an asking price of only $200.00, I believe this is an excellent picture that will be appealing on most any wall in any home.

Tall Ship in the Moonlight

This is my most recent Sketch done in Ink & Water Color Pencil I call Tall Ship in the Moonlight.  This one came out so nice I couldn't wait to share it and post it up for Sale.  I started off asking just $50 for it; but, several friends told me I was really under pricing my work; so, I doubled the price to $100 and they said that was more like it.  I pray they're right and I'm still able to fiind a buyer for it.

My previous sketch was of the Sea Lion in full sail!  It came out just as nice and I'm asking $100 for this work as well.  It's in a 12"x16" frame and looks really nice.  My next effort is going pretty well, of the Sea Lion also in full sail, except this one is 24"x30" and is intended for a large frame that I have.  If this one  comes out as nice as I'm planning I'm going to be asking $200 for it.  That's the most I've asked for any sketch; but, I believe it's going to be more than worth it given its size, detail, and  the amount of time it's going to take to complete it.

We've only been able to get to two venues this summer where we've been able to show my work and have only sold 7 sketches so far.  Not enough to make that much of a difference in our finances; but, enough to help a little bit.  We're quickly running out of money to pay our bills; so, it's essential I figure out how to market my art work better to bring in the resources we need to meet our needs.  The Lord told us to use the work we do with our hands to provide for ourselves.  I believe that putting to work the skill the Lord has given me to sketch various subjects is exactly what He intended me to be doing at this time in my life and I pray these efforts have His blessing on them.
